Mingle and meet like minded people! Most classes are under the direction of Marlena Jayatilake. Because we teach about the health of spices, we promote healthy eating with bold flavors using spices and herbs. We collaborate with doctors, nutritionists and holistic professionals to present cooking parties that are fun & intimate. With each class you will enjoy family style eating of the dishes that are prepared that evening, with wine or tea and appetizers.
Girl's Night Out Classes - Host up to 10 of your best girlfriends for a night of fun and personal service! First choose your cuisine type: Moroccan, Indian, Thai, Italian or Mexican cuisine. Then, together, we will cook 3 dishes so that you know how to recreate each dish in the coziness of your home. Feast on the food prepared for you while sipping on wine specially paired to your meal. You will receive recipes for each dish to take home. Perfect for a bridal shower, birthday, couples or just a girl's night out! Class Cost per person $55.00 BYOB
Spice Blending Class - This is an interactive class open to the public. Learn how to blend and create regional spice blends under the direction of Marlena Jayatilake. You will learn how to fuse different flavors to create a bold and delicious spice blend for popular world cuisines. After learning to blend your spices together, you will then grind and bottle your spice blend to take home. Marlena will then demonstrate how to use the spice by cooking a dish that you will then eat. Wine, tea and appetizers are included. Class cost per person $55.00 BYOB
Tea Blending Classes - This is really a unique class open to the public! You will learn how to blend your own tea. Start with the base tea (red, black, seed, herbal, white, oolong or green teas) and then add to the base tea by choosing an add-on like ginger, turmeric, orange peel, cinnamon and many more. You can choose to make a medicinal tea or any tea that you want to tempt your taste buds. There are so many teas and add-ons to choose from. After creating your tea you will then pack it to take home with you. Assorted finger sandwiches, fruit, tea cake and teas will be served. Class cost per person $45.00
Spice Education Classes - Healing herbs and spices, the benefits and how to cook with them. We will learn about the history of spices and the effects that certain spices can have on health issues like cancer, diabetes, arthritis, etc. Learn why using spices can improve the quality of your life. Learn how to create medicinal blends for digestion and inflammation. Learn how to spice up bland food with bold, delicious, ancient medicinal spices. A spice a day may keep the chiropractor away! Cooking demo, food tasting, wine, appetizers and recipes. Class cost per person $55.00
